Maya Chavez

Maya graduated from California Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts in English before completing her Masters of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at California State University Fullerton. She is very passionate about empowering all forms of communication, as well as advocating for families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Maya has experience working with children with a variety diagnosis including ASD, ADHD, down syndrome, etc. in a special education setting, and with clients across the lifespan in speech, language, social pragmatics, cognition, and voice. She is knowledgeable in supporting gestalt language processors (GLP) and implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems to enhance expressive and receptive language.

Maya is fluent in English and Spanish. Maya’s hobbies include: traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and caring for her 3 golden retrievers!
